The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo

A robot vacuum/mop combination is the best solution for pets that shed fur. This machine can vacuum, mop and clean its own dual mop pad.

It also has the greatest suction power of any robot we have tested, with 8000Pa. It can also create cleaning schedules and save maps of your home through its app.

1. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni

The X2 Omni robot vacuum-mop is the latest model in Ecovacs range of hybrid robot vacuum mops. This model that is wet-dry is fitted with Ecovacs' new AIVI 3D 2.0 lidar system that provides improved mapping and obstacles avoidance. It uses dual-laser LiDAR -- similar to what you'll find in self-driving vehicles and is able to scan an area of up to 32 feet wide by 270 degrees. This results in more precise mapping, faster response times, as well as better cleaning accuracy.

It also features a rotating mopping pad constructed of chenille fabric. This makes it easier to scrub tough spots unlike traditional mopping. In my tests, the X2 Omni took just over a minute to clean its pad before getting to work, and I noticed it was more precise than other models that seemed to follow a grid route around rooms. It was capable of navigating my room's by the corners and edges and also create a "Zambani pattern" up and down the center of the room. It also returned to its OMNI station regularly to empty the dust bin and wash the mop with hot water prior to beginning another task of cleaning.

Like other Ecovacs products, the X2 Omni is simple to set up and begin using. It takes only a few minutes to snap the dock into its place, plug it into and connect to your home Wi-Fi network. Then, you can launch the app and start with your first cleaning project. I was able to modify my floor plan within 15 minutes. This included creating restricted areas for mopping and sweeping and rearranging the layout of wall-mounted furniture and much more. The X2 Omni was impressive in my tests. It scored well in the areas of pet hair removal as well as debris removal, and was near-perfect in its results for edge and crevices cleaning.

2. Deebot T10 Omni

The EcoVACS T10 Omni is an extremely powerful vacuum and mopping machine. It is the most advanced model of the T-line of the brand and comes with a new OZMO Turbo 2.0 mopping system that uses dual-spinning brushes for more effective cleaning than traditional oscillating scrubbing. It comes with YIKO, a natural language processing technology that is the first of its kind. This allows it to respond to a variety of voice commands. The ECOVACS App allows you to design your home, create cleaning schedules, and alter settings.

The biggest issue with the T10 Omni is that it cannot switch from mopping and vacuuming in a single operation. The two modes require you attach and remove the mop heads as needed, which is fine for most homes but not an ideal choice for those with busy lifestyles.

However, the Deebot Omni is a fantastic robot vacuum that delivers outstanding results in our tests on pet hair. It vacuumed up more than 96% of the particles we tossed at it on our hardwood flooring, which is an outstanding performance. It did a great job on tiles and carpets cleaning up 99% of dirt.

This robot vacuum and mops comes with a large docking system that allows for automatic cleaning with cool mop pads. It also has an auto-emptying 3L bag that is easy to replace, and hot air drying for fast and simple maintenance. It also comes with a large tank of water that allows it to be washed and dried more often between mopping sessions.

Like other mopping machines, the Deebot T10 Omni comes with a wash tray at its base that cleans and dries the mop pads when it uses them. It doesn't have a tray that can be removed, which means that dirt, dust and other grime will gradually build up on the bottom.

3. RoboVac X8 Hybrid

This is the first model of mopping from Anker which is well-known for its robot vacuums. It features enhanced intelligence with multiple map support, LIDAR scanning and twin-turbine technology that automatically adjusts to the surface you are cleaning. It's a great mid-range robotic vacuum cleaner, even if it doesn't meet its promise of being the ultimate source for floor cleaning.

The X8 Hybrid looks like a traditional robotic vacuum cleaner from the top with its circular shape, sweeping wheels and an elevated area for sensors. On the other hand there's a motorized floorbrush as well as one side brush that moves dust from the edges to the main path of its' mouth.' It's a bit smaller than the main brushes of the iRobot Roomba S9 which I found made it easier to reach under chairs and couches.

Its mapping system is reasonably sophisticated that allows you to create no-mop zones and specific cleaning zones. However, it has a tendency to bump into things (including its charging dock) and isn't always great in negotiating rug. It was good at picking up pet hair from the floor. In our tests it picked up 89.5% kitty litter.

Although it's controlled through the app, the X8 Hybrid also comes with a series of physical buttons on its base that allow you to select a cleaning mode and switch the robot off or on. Additionally, you can use these to set no-go zones and see real-time maps. It's also a bit chatty and will let you know what it's planning to do next (start cleaning) or notify you when something isn't right.

4. ILIFE A4s

This high-tech vacuum model can remove pet hair, kibble and other debris with great effectiveness. It also maneuvers perfectly around furniture legs. It also comes with an impressive feature set that includes two cleaning modes and a self-emptying dock and a real-time obstacle avoidance system. It is Wi-Fi-enabled and is best controlled using the Neato app where cleaning can be scheduled and the overall maintenance requirements be monitored. The X2 Omni is an excellent choice for large homes with carpet, hard carpet and floors, but it requires some planning ahead to avoid getting stuck on power cords, toys or other unexpected obstacles.

In our hardwood floor and kibble tests the robot performed very well and picked up everything from a single grain of rice to multiple pieces of dog food in one sweep. It had a bit of difficulties transitioning to rugs but in general this vacuum cleaner is perfect for large spaces with both types of flooring and a mix of pets.

The A4s Pro is expensive but it's an excellent purchase for those who want to to leave the house hands-free so they can take on other tasks or do chores. The A4s Pro has a convenient auto-cleaning feature that increases suction to take on tough dirt or spills. It also includes a battery-powered ElectroWall to define the boundaries of the robot.

This budget-friendly model from a popular upstart brand is the most affordable robot we've tested yet and offers an exceptional value for the cost. Its basic navigation system is based on a very basic random pathing algorithm and it's not equipped to map rooms. This makes it less efficient than the other models on this list. However it's still able reach under furniture and in corners and its mopping mode was very effective in our testing and was able to pick up pet hair and other debris with ease.

5. Shark iQ

Shark's iQ isn't as sturdy as the Roomba S9, but it is Superior Robotic Vacuum Cleaner: Ultimate Cleaning Solution in general at getting rid of pet hair from all surfaces. It cleans floors that are bare more thoroughly and does a fair job on low-pile carpet, and it utilizes smart-pathing navigational technology to provide better maneuverability. It also lets you transfer it to a particular room, and its advanced suite of automation features include no-go zones and scheduling. It lets you pause and resume cleaning, making it perfect for homes that have pets.

Its self-cleaning brushroll is able to prevent tangles and can hold up to 30 day's worth of dirt. It comes with angled side brushes to reach into corners, as well as a multi-stage filter system that captures dust, allergens, and dander.

The robot vacuum is built well and feels solid. It is compatible with an app for smartphones that allows you to change the vacuum's settings and schedule cleaning sessions in advance. The app allows you to see the remaining battery life of the iQ, and send push notifications if it encounters any issues during a cleaning session. You can use your voice to control it using an Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant device, and if you do not have either of these devices, you can mark zones with physical boundary strips.

The iQ can do a decent job of clearing bare floors and doing a fair job with shaggy and low-pile carpet however, it doesn't have the same level of autonomy as our top selections. It's also costly and its recurring cost can add up.
