1. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni

The X2 Omni Deenkee Robot Vacuum - 3000PA Powerhouse for Ultimate Cleaning vacuum-mop is the latest in Ecovacs range of hybrid robot vacuum mops. This model is dry and wet. It comes with the upgraded AIVI 3D2.0 lidar system Ecovacs, which offers improved mapping and obstruction avoidance. It uses dual-laser LiDAR -- similar to what you'll find in self-driving vehicles -- and can scan an area of up to 32 feet wide by 270 degrees. This means more precise mapping, faster response time, and better cleaning accuracy.

It also features a rotating mopping pad made of chenille fabric. This makes it much easier to scrub difficult spots unlike traditional mop. In my testing the X2 Omni took just over a minute to clean its pad and begin work, and I noticed it was more precise than other models that seemed to follow a gridded route around rooms. It was able to navigate the corners and edges of my rooms, as well as make "Zambani patterns" both in and out of the middle of the room. It returned to its OMNI Station regularly to empty the dust bin and clean the mop using hot water before beginning another task of cleaning.

The most significant issue with the T10 Omni is that it's not able to switch from mopping to vacuuming in one go. The two modes require you attach and remove mop heads according to the need and is suitable for most homes, but isn't a good fit for people who lead busy lives.

However, the Deebot T10 Omni is a superb robot vacuum that has impressive results in our pet hair tests. It vacuumed up more than 96% of the particles we tossed at it our hardwood floors and floors, which is a remarkable performance. It did an excellent job on carpets and tiles and removed 99percent of dirt.

This robot vacuum and mop has an extensive docking system that lets you clean the mop pads automatically using cool mop pads. It also has an auto-emptying 3L bag which is easy to replace, and hot air drying for fast and simple maintenance. It also has a huge water tank that allows for more frequent rinses and dries between mopping runs.

This is the first mopping model made by Anker which is well-known for its robot vacuums. It offers upgraded smarts, multiple maps support, and LIDAR scanning, along with twin turbine suction technology that adapts to the surface you're cleaning. It's a tempting mid-range vacuum cleaner although it can't exactly live up to its promise of being the ultimate source for floor cleaning.

The X8 Hybrid looks like a regular robotic vacuum cleaner from the top, with its circular shape with sweeping wheels and an elevated space for sensors. On the other side, you'll see a motorised floorbrush and a single side brush that moves dust from the edges into the main artery of its' mouth.' It's smaller than the main brushes on the competing iRobot Roomba S9, which I discovered makes it easier to fit under chairs and sofas.

Its mapping system lets you define no-mop areas as well as specific cleaning zones. However it is prone to get into things (including its own charging dock) and isn't always adept in climbing over rugs. It did a good job of removing pet hair from floors that were bare, though, and during our tests, it took in 89.5 percent of cat litter - a figure that is higher than all but the strongest robots we've tested.

The X8 Hybrid is controlled via an app, but it also has a set of physical buttons at its base. These buttons let you select the cleaning mode, or turn off the robot. You can also use these to set no-go zones as well as see real-time maps. It's a little chatty, as well, and will tell you what it's going to do next ("start cleaning") or alert you that something's wrong (it does not have enough power to charge, for example).

It had some difficulties transitioning to rugs however, in general, this vacuum cleaner is great for rooms that have both types of flooring and a mix of pets.

The A4s Pro is expensive but it's an excellent purchase for those who want to be able to leave the house hands-free so they can get out and do other things or do chores. The A4s Pro has a convenient auto-cleaning mode that increases suction to tackle tough dirt or spills. It also has a battery-powered ElectroWall to set boundaries for the robot.

This budget-friendly option from a well-known brand is the cheapest model we've ever tested and provides an outstanding value for money. Its basic navigation system is based on a very basic random pathing algorithm and it lacks the ability to map rooms. This makes it less efficient as other models on this list. However, it's still able to navigate under furniture and into corners and its mopping mode worked very well in our testing it picked up pet hair and other debris with ease.

5. Shark iQ

Shark's iQ isn't as robust as the Roomba S9, but it is superior in general at cleaning up pet hair on all surfaces. It is more effective of cleaning carpets with low piles and floor surfaces that are bare. It also utilizes smart-pathing navigational software for greater maneuverability. It also allows you to assign it to a specific room, and its sophisticated suite of automation features include no-go zones as well as scheduling. It also allows you to stop and resume cleaning making it ideal for homes that have pets.

The self-cleaning brushroll is able to prevent the tangles caused by pet hair and other debris and its self-emptying docking station can hold up to 30 days of dirt before it needs to be cleaned. It also has a set of angled side brushes that penetrate into corners and its multi-stage filter system is able to capture dust, dander, and allergens for cleaner air.

The robot vacuum is built well and feels solid. It is compatible with a smartphone application that lets you change the settings of your vacuum and schedule cleaning sessions in advance. The app lets you see the remaining battery life and also receive push notifications about any issues it encounters during a cleaning session. You can control it using your voice via an Amazon Alexa device or Google Assistant device. If you don't have either of these devices you can mark the boundaries of your area with physical boundary lines.

The iQ does a good job of clearing bare flooring and doing a good job on low-pile and shaggy carpet however it lacks the same level of autonomy as our top choices. It's also expensive and the cost of recurring use can add up.
